Sim Only Mobile Review – Telstra Go Casual Plans (July 2016)
Telstra has revised its mobile plans range launching the new Go Plans in both contracted term and casual form. The new Go Casual plans now start at a more reasonable $35/mth and come with unlimited messaging, a solid call and data allowance. Data increments are per KB and excess data has moved to a per GB basis at $10/GB. Call rates have also changed with the flagfall being removed and replaced by a $1 per minute call rate.
At the $35 price point, Telstra is offering $300 (150, 2 min calls) in calls plus unlimited messaging. Along with this you get 500MB of 4G data plus a bonus subscription to Presto. Step up to $50 and access $1000 (500, 2 min calls) plus 2.5GB of data and the Presto bonus. The final step in the range is at $70 (was $130 prior to this latest change) with unlimited calls and messaging plus 6GB of data.
These changes are significant and make Telstra a lot more competitive when you compare them to Optus and Vodafone.
