Prepaid Mobile Broadband Review – Dodo Internet
Dodo Prepaid Mobile Wireless Broadband is offered via the Optus 3G network. Dodo prepaid internet starter kits start at just $49 and give you a range of data options including 5 – 10GB in the first 30 days or 100 – 200 hours of access. It’s actually your choice which way you go. The other options is to have additional data each month for 12 months.

Once your starter kit data is used up you can then recharge using one of two methods. The first gives you an amount of actual data that you can use and the second option is time based. As an example at the 30 days range, you can recharge between 250 – 500MB or 10 – 20 hours. Both these options cost $10. The data range is based on peak and off-peak usage. Peak is from 7.01 am to 11.59pm.

At 60 days you can either recharge for $20 and get access to 1 – 2GB (or 25 – 50 hours) or at $40 have access to 3 – 6GB (or 60 – 120 hours). The peak and off-peak ranges are interesting. They are more popular with fixed line broadband rather than prepaid internet but Dodo have built in a competitive offer. As an example Optus offer 3.45GB for $40, whilst Dodo offers up to 6GB (almost double). At the top end , Dodo offers up to 30Gb for $139 whilst Optus Connect N Surf offers 17.25GB for $130.

Dodo had some serious problems with customer service a few years ago, these seem to be resolved now which should give you some comfort. However remember this is prepaid so you can chop and change whenever you like. Simply replace the sim in your USB (ensure it is unlocked).
