The first day of Spring brings with it changes to the prepaid plan range from both Amaysim and Telstra.

Amaysim have updated their Unlimited 2GB plan by replacing the 500 min call allowance with unlimited calls. This plan now gives you unlimited local calls, unlimited local TXT/MMS and 2GB of data with a 30 day expiry or $29.90.

Telstra have made changes to their prepaid mobile plan range by updating their Freedom plans to the new Freedom Plus plans. The new recharge now offer:

  • $30 Freedom Plus – includes $250 in call credit plus $30 recharge credit, unlimited Telstra calls, unlimited local TXT and 1.3GB of Telstra 4G data. Credit expires in 28 days and unused recharge credit and data can be rolled over.
  • $40 Freedom Plus – includes $750 in call credit plus $40 recharge credit, unlimited Telstra calls, unlimited local TXT and 3GB of Telstra 4G data. Credit expires in 28 days and unused recharge credit and data can be rolled over.
  • $50 Freedom Plus – includes $1500 in call credit plus $50 recharge credit, unlimited Telstra calls, unlimited local TXT and 4GB of Telstra 4G data. Credit expires in 28 days and unused recharge credit and data can be rolled over.

Let’s see how these new plans compare to some of the others at the $30 price:

  • Vodafone $30 Prepaid Cap – unlimited local calls, unlimited local TXT/MMS plus 1.5GB of Vodafone 4G data (per KB increments). Expiry is 28 days.
  • Optus My Prepaid Monthly $30 – unlimited local calls plus $5 extra credit, unlimited local TXT/MMS plus 1.5GB of Optus 4G data (per KB increments). Expiry is 30 days.
  • Aldi $3o Prepaid pack – $65 credit (650 mins of calls), 50,000 TXT plus unlimited calls to Aldi. Includes 1.5GB of Telstra 3G data with per 25KB.
  • Yatango $30 Unlimited Pack – unlimited calls, unlimited TXT/MMS plus 1.5GB of Optus 4G data with per KB increments. Credit expiry period is 30 days.
