Prepaid Mobile Review – Vodafone Sim Only Caps (December 2012)

| Vodafone have given these plans a facelift a few times already since launching them a few years ago. Of the bigger providers they have the most competitive offer at the moment but it still isn’t as competitive as some of the smaller Telcos eg TPG. Nevertheless, Vodafone’s Sim Only plans come with no contract so you leave whenever you like. They also come with (in most cases) unlimited calls to other Vodafone/3 users. The starter plans is $20 with 200MB and $180 to anyone with an additional $80 to Vodafone users. Jump to $30 and you have 500MB data, $300 calls/TXT to anyone. At $35/mth you get 750MB of data, $500 in call credit, and unlimited calls to Vodafone. At $45 you have 1GB data, $700 in calls and unlimited calls to Vodafone. Beyond these plans you have the $65 and $85 Caps. They come with 2GB and 3GB of data, unlimited calls to anyone plus unlimited TXT to anyone and $80 or $100 in credit to be used for whatever you like eg international calls. What troubles me about these plans is that they just aren’t as competitive as offers from Amaysim with Unlimited Calls and 4GB of data for $40/mth. The international TXT offer at the $65/$85 mark makes some difference but is it enough? |
