VIRGIN PREPAID MOBILE BROADBAND
Virgin have made some exciting changes to their prepaid mobile broadband offer this week. It’s not that they weren’t competitive before, but now they have a special offer that will cause the other Telcos to take notice. Before we look at pricing however, lets take a look at the USB sticks on offer. Virgin offers a USB stick/modem that operates on the Optus 3G dualband network. For $89 you get the stick plus 1GB and if you buy before 30 June 2010 you get a bonus 2GB (30 day expiry). Virgin also offer the Wifi, which acts as your own personal hotspot connecting up to 3 PCs at once. The Wifi will set you back $149 but also comes with 1GB plus a bonus 2GBs until 30 June 2010. What is great about the Virgin USB stick is that you can actually use it with any other provider on the Optus network. There is no unlock fee, it unlocks when you recharge $80. If you already have your own compatible Optus network modem, then for just $10, Virgin will sell you a sim card to use on their network. This comes with 300MB of data and lasts for 30 days. Now let’s look at Virgin’s recharge offers. They offer 5 recharge plans: $15 gets you 500MB (lasts 30 days), $30 – 2GB (30 days), $50 – 4GB (60 days), $100 – 6GB (90 days) and the new $149 with 12GB lasts 365 days. There’s something there for everybody. Check them out for yourself.
