| Sim Only Mobile Review – Live Connected Sim Only Mobile Plans |
| Live Connected will shortly go live with a new range of no contract mobile plans. Five plans in total will make up the new range which should be available come 1 July 2011. We start with Lite.r which is an easy start plan offering $100 call credit and $100 to other Live members and 100MB. Just enough to see a few emails. However do note that data is counted in KB not MB, so it should last you a lot longer. This is a great starter plan if you don’t use your phone much but do want some ample credit each month and for $5 it look like great value. Need to bare in mind with Lite.r that the call rates are 99c per minute with a 40c flagfall, so not the cheapest around. $100 gives you 42, 2 minute calls per month.The next range is the Pioneer range, starting with Lite, upgrading to medium and then heavy. The calls rates now drop to 90c per minute and 35c flagfall. Lite gives you $145 in calls with 200MB in data for just $8 per month. Then you have Medium with $400 in calls and 1.5GB for $15. The number of calls per month you would achieve with these plans is 67 and 186 respectively. Again great value. The final plan in the Pioneer series is Heavy with $740 in calls and 3GB for $29. Compare that to many of the prepaid mobile plans out there and you can see why sim only is proving to be very popular. At $740 in credit you can expect 344, 2 minute calls.Finally we have Zen, Live Connected’s answer to the various unlimited plans out there. 4000 calls minutes, unlimited text and sms/mms, $40 of international calls, 4GB of data and unlimited social network access for $40 per month. As close to unlimited as you can get without actually naming it that way.Also note that these plans allow you to make calls to 13, 1300 and 1800 number which a lot of other plans don’t (eg Amaysim unlimited). Furthermore data sessions are based are charged per KB rather than per MB so your GB will last a whole lot longer.Live Connected will certainly be kicking some goals with these new plans. |
