| Kiss Mobile was one of the original sim only mobile plans (as far as I am concerned anyway). To be honest I stumbled across them and couldn’t quite work out what they were offering, “pre and post paid plans” is how they described their offer. I listed them on my site thinking maybe its something for the future.Since then sim only mobile phone plans have become very popular. Some consider them month to month plans, other no contract mobile plans. Call them what you like, these plans offer a real alternative for someone wanting more value than prepaid and more flexibility than a contract plan. Sim only sits right in the middle.Kiss Mobile recently underwent a review of their mobile plans as well as a much needed upgrade of their website. Everything looks a lot more professional and competitive today. The two key plans they are offer are the Kiss 15 and the Mobile Data plans. Since also launched Kiss 4 Ever.Kiss 15 gives you 15c per 30 secs calls and no connection fee. They also offer free 5 minute calls Kiss to Kiss (no time of day restrictions). Txt rates are 14c. Pay as you go data is 5c per MB, you can however also purchase a data plan. These start at $2.95 per month for 100MB, $3.95 for 250MB, $4.95 for 500MB and $9.95 for 1GB.My view is that call rates are competitive, particularly with no connection fee. Consider that a 3 minute call will cost you 90c only.
The data plans are very reasonable, particularly when you consider the value in the call rates at 15c per 30 secs. So as a combined package you get access to data plus call costs that you can control. If you considered that you make 3 x 3 minute calls a day on your phone (or 90 calls per month) , the total monthly cost would come to: $81 per month. For $80 per month, a $79 Cap plan would give you access to well over 300 calls. Therefore, if you are planning heavy usage of your phone, maybe this isn’t the right plan for you. Monthly costs are $1 plus what you spend on calls each month. To get started you need $15 to get your sim kit sent out to you. Another key point to note is that Kiss Mobile allows you to have multiple SIMs (kiss 15 or Kiss 4 Eva etc) attached to single account all using the same credit. This is ideal for the family, particularly when you factor in the free 5 minute calls. Recharge for $50 and the whole family gets to use it. |
