2008 has been a very big year in the prepaid market. Prepaid mobile phones have become increasingly popular as have the many plans available in the market place. There are so many providers of prepaid mobile plans in the market place, but if you read one of my earlier posts on what is popular on this site, you will notice that the big players still seem to steal most of the traffic.
Prepaid Internet has probably been the biggest surprise for me this year. In a matter of 3 months, we have seen big offers come from many players. There are now lots of providers of the prepaid internet plan, including 3 Mobile/Internet, Dodo and Vodafone. Pricing has also been very competitive with many Christmas specials being advertised.
2009 on the prepaid mobile front will become much more competitive. Many people with post paid plans lapsing in 2009 will automatically look at what prepaid plans are on offer to ensure they are getting value for money prior to signing another 12 or 24 month mobile phone contract. Prepaid Plans provides the best place to compare prepaid mobile phone and internet plans.
At a recent presentation from Hitwise, their feedback was that customers will be doing a lot more comparing in 2009. It probably isn’t so much ‘can they save money’, but are they getting the right program for the level of usage they have.
2009 will also see more data plans become available or atleast more data being made available withn existing plans. With the Apple iPhone now finally going prepaid (read somewhere JB Hifi are joinging the race), as well as new phones coming from all key providers, telecom companies will be making sure they have the offers to satisfy customers.
Stay tuned for another busy year with many new prepaid mobile phone and broadband deals. You will find them all here at Prepaid Plans.
As the year approaches its end, I thought I would let you know what the most popular pages on the prepaid plans website are. Might give you some indication as to what people are looking for in term so prepaid mobile phone and internet plans from a brand perspective.

From a broadband perspective, the most popular pages are:
Probably not all that surprising given the amount of money these companies spend on advertising and the positioning they get on this website due to their pricing and features (eg Dodo broadband).
