| Prepaid Mobile Review – Go-Talk | ||||||||||
| March 2010 Go-Talk had an active prepaid mobile offer about 12 months ago and then it just disappeared. They have this month (Sept 09) released a new set of prepaid mobile plans focusing on the cost conscious end of the market (that is the whole prepaid mobile market I guess), plus also those who have family o/seas and would like to use their mobile to phone family and/or friends o/seas. Note these plans where recently updated. I haven’t reviewed the o/seas calling rates, but apparently Go-talk have a deal with an international carrier for some very good rates. When we look at these rates, the first thing that clearly stands out is the very cheap call rate of 10c for the Straight Plans. This is complimented by the 14.5c TXT rate, again very competitive. The expiry period is probably the weakest point in this offer. Particularly when you compare these plans to Savvytel 12.5c – 365 days, Just Mobile 15c – 180 days and Woolworths 15c – 180 days. Having a look at the latest poll on our website, credit expiry seems to be the most popular feature our users are looking out for when it comes to prepaid mobile plans. Go-Talk hasn’t quite made it here.The Big Talk Cap gives you a range of credit offers, starting at $40 and increasing to $800 when you recharge $100. This is pretty good value and compares favorably to Virgin’s Caps and Just Mobile.Last but not least, Go-Talk have teamed up with Vodafone to offer these deals and so if you can get a few friends on Go-Talk, you can access the offer of free Go-Talk to Go-Talk calls (inc flagfall) plus 5c text. |
